Goings on in Prekindergarten the week after Thanksgiving Break

Here a student calls friends for snack.  Notice that the children sign in and that their name and picture are cut like puzzle pieces.  Word/picture matching strengths the word/meaning relationship.  This job will become a weekly job when "Jobs" start officially next week.
Thank you to a generous family for donating these fantastic easels.  The children have an opportunity to practice so many skills when painting upright.
Children are encouraged to "tickle" the paper and keep the brush from having a bad hair day!
Floor puzzles encourage cooperation and communication.  They also help children cross midline, strengthen their upper bodies by reaching and improve their visual/spatial skills just to name a few.
Friends in the morning class earned a reward for following the classroom rules.  We vote between two choices.  The children made "Campfire Cookies".  There were many chances to improve fine motor skills.
Children built their own cookies using a photograph for help.

This student is using a 10s-frame to count out 20 pom-poms for a circle activity.  Later, we sorted and patterned these materials.
