Recess and Parent Walk-In/Drop-Off

Dear Vinton Prekindergarten Families:

I write you today with a few reminders about our recess and arrival procedures here at Vinton Prekindergarten.

Recess: For approximately 30 minutes per day the children will be going out to play unless raining or bitterly cold (this is typically determined by the office personnel).  Therefore, please send your child to school in warm clothing.  If you wish to, your child may keep winter boots/snow pants in their lockers so they have these garments available.  Only children with boots and snow pants are allowed to go into the snow.  They must also have protective hand gear such as gloves or mittens.

Parent Walk-In/Drop-Off: Parents may park their cars and walk their morning session children to the front portico from 8:45-9:00 and for afternoon session students between 12:50-1:00.  We meet on the front portico at that time as well.   All children should be escorted across the parking lot by a parent or guardian.  For safety, parents or guardians may not park or drop children off in front of the school building or along the fire lanes during school hours.  We have worked hard to make our arrival procedures as safe as possible for our Prekindergarten friends.  Their safety is paramount.
