Belly breathing to help us calm down...

As part of our social-emotional learning program "Second Step" the children are learning to self-sooth.  When faced with an uncomfortable feeling, the children are encouraged to put their hands on their tummies, say "stop", state how they are feeling and then to take some "belly breaths".  To learn how to breath in through our noses and fill up our bellies, our belly buddies (beanie babies) help us see if we're taking in air.
