Name Puzzles

Your child has already brought their puzzle home, but a friend was the one who taped it back together again.  During color groups, we've been working on recognizing our names, recognizing the letters in our names, knowing the initial, medial and final letters in our names and even in our friend's names.  Children were given oaktag with their name on one side and told to draw a picture on the other.  Then, Mrs. Dionne drew lines for them to cut along and make a "puzzle" out of their names.  They reassembled the puzzle, but a few days later, we all sat down to a different puzzle and by using our sign-in name strips, figured out a friend's name.  Then we taped it up and returned it!

It was tricky work, but we stuck with it!
