Letters seen as big lines, little lines, big curves and little curves

This week's color groups have focused on building letters in student names.  One group used homemade play-doh (the BEST recipe I've ever found), Wiki sticks and Fruit Loops.  Staff reviewed the following:

• A name is a word
• A name has meaning, it means a person (in this case)
• Words have first and last letters
• Words sometimes have middle letters
• Words have different numbers of letters
• Letters are made up of straight lines and curved lines.  
• Straight lines can be big or small
• Curved lines can be big or small
