Mathematics Color Group this week

Thanks to the weather last week, we got a little bit side-tracked but we were able to complete our objectives this week during math color group.  Three and sometimes 4 days per week, children are heterogeneously grouped into groups of 4-5 students and instruction focuses on reading, writing and math.  Here, students are challenged to create sets of various numbers using the bumps on the blocks.  For students that find this easy, I challenge them to create the sums in more than one way.  Those same children may be asked to provide a number sentence such as 2+ 2+1=5.
