We try to have something for everyone here at Vinton's Prekindergarten. Here two friends are tending to their horses. |
Other children join in when they see the action at the horse stable. More friends provide opportunities for development of personal and social skills. |
Here a friend is working on a puzzle highlighting various birds. Children are encouraged to make choices and to request materials that enhance their experiences. |
Mandala Art is one of my favorite arrival choices. Children are provided with Jurassic sand and beach stones (aka. rocks) to create designs or to just feel the smooth surfaces created from waves. |
Can you see the smiley face? |
When I look at these photographs I see so much more than when the actual photograph was taken. What do you see? |
Puzzles offer students a chance to develop their visual-spatial skills. This is a particularly challenging puzzle and this friend did not give up! |
Our program is so fortunate to have such skilled paraprofessionals. |
Two friends enjoy informational texts! |
Many friends stopped by the Reading/Writing Center to see what their friends were reading. |
Children have voice and choice regarding their arrival activities. Some children sustain their attention to one task for a majority of the time, while others move from activity to activity. |
What just happened? |
The expectation is that children will use their words to ask for what they want and need. |
