A still life (plural: still lifes) is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which are
either natural (food, flowers, dead animals, plants, rocks, shells, etc.) or man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes, etc.).[1]
Forced Forsythia and a vase are the subjects for a group art project this week. Children engage in a myriad of skills, including tracing, cutting, painting, wrinkling paper and gluing.
Vase templates were selected first and traced using short pencils to encourage a tripod grasp that is held closer to the tip. |
Students sometimes benefit from assistance with utilizing scissors. Proper thumb up and fingers down position and slide and snip are prompts staff provides. |
