Reading opportunities in Prekindergarten.

 Children use pointers to "read" various text.  Anchor charts, big books and environmental print all offer children opportunities to make the word/meaning connection.

MATHEMATICAL EXPLORATION

We've been learning about three-dimensional objects, and we sorted and counted them.

Tens frames help organize counting.  Notice the child sorting by shape.  Three plus three equals 6 on our counting mat.  Modeling mathematical thinking is done throughout the school day.
