Pizza Shop Dramatic Play Area

Several students shared that something they like to do with their families is eat pizza.  Hence, Yummy Pizza, was opened.

Dear Prekindergarten Family,

This notice serves as a reminder that during the week of November 20, there will be no Prekindergarten classes.  Therefore, students enrolled in both the morning and afternoon sessions of Prekindergarten will be out of school from November 20, 2017 until the following Monday, November 27, 2017 to accommodate conferences and the Thanksgiving Holiday break.

Turn and Talk!

This year we've begun to "Turn & Talk" early.  Students are learning to make eye contact, speak and listen, converse and share their thoughts regarding various topics.

Trouble! The game that is.

Friends take turns playing the game "Trouble".  Number recognition, counting out, fine motor skills and personal/social skills are all addressed.

Recognizes similarities and appreciates differences-Performance Standard Personal and Social 9

Children used mirrors to observe their own unique facial qualities and then capture their unique characteristics on paper.

Students were provided with multicultural crayons.

Science this week-Wet or Dry? Story for our first day back!

Cognitive 1 states that children will engage in scientific inquiry.  By age 5.5, children should be able to describe, predict and plan for purposeful exploration or observation.

Two parts cornstarch and one part water make GAK, a fine medium to encourage commentary.

Children used their senses to feel the difference between the cornstarch, water and then the GAK, which turns out feels both wet and dry.

 

Mrs. Dionne shared a story that is a personal favorite of hers.

New additions this week-making trail markers, a cow with an udder and fresh Play-doh.
